College Life!!!
Sorry it's taken me a while to update!! I've been settling in to my new appartment at college and my internet connection is very touchy so i usually have to go to the library to get online. So for a complete update for those who don't know, I left for school on September 3rd! We drove to Boise the first day, which was the long day of driving. We were lucky to have pretty bearable weather. My mom didn't die of heat exhaustion which was the big worry. haha. We stayed in a hotel where i ended up leaving my phone charger.. which was..fun. We went on this trip with my friend Matt who is also here this fall and his mom Tami. So the 4 of us caravaned everywhere. My car was stuffed to the gills with stuff. My dad didn't think it would all fit, but we proved him wrong. And YES dad, i HAVE used my crockpot so there. :P The second day we drove from Boise to Rexburg where matt and I stayed with our moms one last night because we were able to move in the next morning. We had a safe trip, but suprisingly it was Matts truck that had the car trouble and not mine so GOOD JOB DAD. haha. Matts exhaust pipe fell off so he had to get creative and tie it up.
The following morning we got up early and went to our appartment complexes where we checked in and got our keys!! My mom helped me organize everything and situate all my stuff. And again dad, it fit everywhere. I thought i would look like Elle Woods with all my pink stuff but it didnt turn out to be as much pink as i thought. and guess what!!!?? im one of the cleaner girls of the house! haha.. can you believe it?! my side stays fairly clean, but you should see our kitchen floor. Its pretty much the nastiest thing i have ever seen. We definatly need to invest in a broom. I am loving my roommates!! I thought that they were all from Alabama originally because their state symbol was AB and i thought that stood for Alabama, but it turns out that it stood for Alberta, Canada!! So im the only American in the house living with 5 very proud Canadians. Its great! i love it. they constantly make fun of me for saying things weird, like Pecan. They pronounce it PEE-CON and i say PA-CON, and i say Man-aise and they say Mayo-naise. Its so funny. They have a very large canadian flag (which they also say Fleg not flag) in their rooms and a huge maple leaf blanket and pillow on our couch. I even bought a shirt at goodwill the other day that says canada with a maple leaf on it. They got a huge kick out of it and are claiming to adopt me as a canadian. We are having so much fun! I never thought i could be paired with so many good fun crazy spazzy girls just like me!! we are up till at least 12:30 everynight. It really is like a never ending sleepover. I feel like i have known them my entire life. Their names are Cassie, Alisha, Mikki, Kelsey, and Mandi. Mandi is my roommate and is already in the Nursing Program. She has been a huge help in giving me pointers for how to get in and classes to take.
As far as school is concerned, I never thought i could love school so much. My classes are actually not that difficult, yet. The only one that i think i will struggle with is anatomy and physiology but so far i have felt way ahead of the class because i took it last year. so far EVERYTHING has been a review. Im really liking that!! Its so nice to feel like the questions people are asking are ridiculous and stupid questions because i totally know all the answers!! I really like the feel of going to a church school. I feel like im in such a safe and peaceful atmosphere. the feeling on campus is amazing and i know that i am right where i am meant to be. Incorportating church and school feels so right and at last, my professors understand the standards that guide my life and encourage me to acknowledge them in my assignments. I have been able to manage my homework pretty well too! I even had time to go try out for an intramural softball team!! i made a team called the Hawks which looks like we have some good players on!! I had my first practice today and have my first game on Friday. We have double headers every friday so we can get lots of games in before the cold weather hits. Practice was good! It was so hot today! I also applied for a job in the food service area at the Rexburg Hospital. Im going to follow up with it this week. Hopefully i can get my foot in the door at the hospital. I need to apply for the Nursing program by november 1st, so it would be awesome to have some experience at the hospital before i start my nursing there. If i get in the summer program for nursing which is least competitive because its so hot I wouldnt come home. I would stay and go to school pretty much year round. So i will for sure let everyone know when i find out if i get in or not.
I think thats everything for now! sorry its a lot to take in, but there are so many new things going on in my life i wanted to let you in on!!! I love and miss you all. Id love to get email from everyone to know what is going on with everyone else.
Talk to you later,
Brittany

Vacation!
My one get-away this summer was going to Kah-Nee-Ta. For those who have no idea what that is, which im guessing is most of you, it is a high desert resort on an indian reservation.
It is out by Madras, Oregon. It was over 100 degrees everyday and i definatly got some sun!! My family went with another family that we go to church with. It was really fun!
There was a huge pool with water slides. The pool was mostly heated by the natural warm springs in the area, so the pool wasnt quite as refreshingly-cold as i was hoping for it to be.
Because the resort is an indian reservation, we camped in Teepees!! It was basically glorified camping.
We had running water, and real toilets (thank goodness)near by. We also went horseback riding.
The trial went right up through the mountains and overlooked the entire desert. It was absolutley gorgeous. As you will see from the many pictures i took, i really enjoyed the view. Another thing that was really cool was that there were wild horses that would roam free in the mountains surrounding the resort. It was so pretty and i swear right out of the movie Spirit .

After we returned home from the trip i went right back to working 2 jobs the next day. WELCOME HOME! haha. Since then i also have some pictures from going to see a Volcanoes baseball game with a group from church.
That was really fun, although i wasnt really paying any attention to the game.
And my first "baseball game" hotdog will be my last because it was sick! I
did get a free Volcanoes baseball, haha but ended up just having some friends sign it. It was great.
Well im sure ill add more later, but that's all for now!

Graduation
Hey Everyone! I just created this blog, as you can see. I thought it would be a good way to let everyone know what's going on in my life and keep you posted on everything i will be starting in the next few months!! For those who don't know, I just graduated from highschool! Its crazy to think that i will no longer be walking those halls laughing at all the tiny freshman with their backpacks sinched up wayy to high. oh shoooot. Im a freshman now!! Or will be this fall anyway! In case you are out of the loop, Im heading off to BYU Idaho this fall to study Nursing! Im really excited and can't wait for the new beginning, and all the exciting changes!!
As as far as my summer goes, its pretty boring thus far. Im working 2 jobs right now, so im really sorry if im not doing as good of a job of keeping in touch with everyone!! Ive come to realize that since graduation, a lot of things have changed and will continue to change!! For example, ive realized that summer doesn't exsist anymore and i HATE that part. Just add on some bills and we can go so far as to call ourselves boring 'ol adults.(and we thought turning 18 would be cool. shooooot...) Tomorrow I am going to Kah-Nee-Ta, my one vacation and break from the maddness before school. So that should be fun, and help me re-gain some of my sanity. Kah-Nee-Ta is a resport on an Indian Reservation. It has fun waterslides, horseback riding, mini golf, and other stuff. I better get some sun, I need to prove to those (what do you call someone who is from Idaho?) Idahoans? haha that us Oregonians DO get sun, or I do anyway (sorry to all you pale folks out there..) I will be sure to add pictures when i get back!
Thanks to everyone who contributed to the good memories I have of high school and home. You will be missed.
That's it for now.
